The weird thing about this year is that it feels as though all bets are off; nothing has worked out the way we expected. Does that mean we should change our expectations?

Despite the ambiguity of the year so far, the reality is that the seasons do just keep on changing, regardless of what the humans are dealing with or working through. This summer season, the only summer of 2020 we’re going to have, is coming to a close - but not just yet. The fall season, when business ramps up as people return from holidays, is looming - but not just yet.

Rather than lamenting the shorter and shorter days that are on their way, the distance between us and our next holidays, and the countless unknowns that 2020 may still bring us, we suggest that now is a great time to take stock.

You’ve been dealing with a lot this year, no matter who you are or what you are doing. What have you learned about yourself, your life, and your business? What can you do with those learnings to make the last few months of this very strange year better?

Our CMO, Krysten Merriman, likes to think about all those things. This past month she appeared in two articles in the Squamish Chief, talking about the pandemic and its impact (you can read those here and here). Every business has made changes in how they operate this year - and Krysten has a few suggestions as to which of those changes you should keep, and how the nature of your work will continue to evolve after the pandemic is behind us.

One business that was ready for those changes was that of our client Melanie, a professional coach who provides her services online. Melanie loves coaching her clients towards success, but found herself bogged down with emails, scheduling, and file management - tasks that drained her energy and took her away from the most important thing she does: coaching. Read our latest case study to find out how we made time for her to focus on her business, increasing her capacity and improving her profits.
