Since joining Admin Slayer, Julia instantly became a pivotal player on a number of Slayer teams that support business owners across Canada, providing calendar management, document formatting, email triage, proofreading, creation of PowerPoint documents, facilitating meetings and taking meeting notes, research and so much more. With over a decade working in administrative positions that have included everything from campaign planning, research, publishing newsletters to policy and process creation, Julia is a talented slayer with a careful focus on planning, detail, and execution.

What many find daunting, Julia thoroughly enjoys: proofreading, using complex cloud-based systems, creating PowerPoint presentations…the list goes on. With variety in the type of clients she works with and responsibilities entrusted to her, Julia never gets bored and enjoys the culture and community we have here at Admin Slayer!

On a personal note, Julia lives in Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula in Ontario and when she isn’t slaying for Admin Slayer’s clients, you can catch Julia whipping up delicious banana bread with limited ingredients. (If that made you hungry, Julia shared her recipe below.) Or she may be figuring out what to do with too many zucchinis despite reducing the number of seeds she plants each year. Zucchinis do have a tendency to get away on one – if you know, you know!

As well, Julia fosters rescue dogs providing them a safe place to rest and recover until a new fur-ever home is found for them. Skiing, hiking and camping in Canada’s beautiful national and provincial parks is one way that Julia unwinds with her family (2-legged and 4-legged).

Julia’s diligence, skills, and strong team ethic are vital to the businesses we support. We’re so thrilled to have her personality, proactiveness, and wide skill set on our team!

Being a Slayer has helped me achieve a great work/life balance. I’m able to live - and work - in a relatively remote part of Ontario, in beautiful natural surroundings. I don’t have to spend hours commuting to and from work each day, which is saving me so much time. And, as an added bonus, my fellow Slayers are extremely supportive and knowledgeable. I’ve learnt many new tips and skills since joining Admin Slayer.

Banana Bread recipe:

270 g sugar (ideally light brown sugar, but granulated works just fine)

2 eggs

2 bananas, mashed (the browner the better as they’ll be sweeter)

280 g plain flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp (or more) ground cinnamon

1 tsp (or more) ground ginger

140 g melted, cooled butter (or canola oil)

Optional: handful of chopped nuts (walnuts, pecan, etc.) and/or chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 170 C / 325 F

Combine sugar and eggs well in a mixer (or use an electric whisk). Add in the mashed bananas.

Add in the flour + baking soda + baking powder + cinnamon + ginger. Mix until combined (but not too much).

Lastly, add in the melted butter (+ any nuts/chocolate chips). Mix until everything has combined.

Pour the mix into a loaf pan and smooth over so it’s evenly spread. Bake in the middle of the oven for approx 1 hr. Enjoy on its own, with a cup of coffee in the morning, with vanilla ice cream, or fresh fruit.
