July Update

We hope you’ve been taking time this summer to rest and recharge, or that you have some time off planned. Real time off - the kind where you get away and shut down your phone, and genuinely feel like the world will not collapse if your nose is removed from the grindstone. Hey, the world is kind of in free-fall anyway… what’s your holiday going to do?

In all seriousness, we can often feel - especially in difficult economic times - that if we only work that much harder, if we put in that much more time, we can keep the wolf from the door and the door firmly in its frame. The truth, though, is that the harder we push ourselves, the less effective we become - and if your business can’t survive without you… is it a business… or a job?

Even if your business is in dire straits, even if your business is just coming back from some really tough times, even if you’re struggling on multiple levels - no, especially if - then you need to take the time to rebuild your own energy stores. Last year, we wrote three different articles on building your own personal resilience. We invite you to relax in the shade and flip through these to remind yourself just how important it is to guard your health and well-being. Click the following links to read Building Personal Resilience Part 1, Part 2, and (special bonus) Emotional Resilience, all part of our 2019 resilience series.

2020 of course has a theme all of its own and, no, that theme is not “the apocalypse.” This year, we wanted to share the stories of struggle and success from within the Admin Slayer bubble. The very cool business owners we have the pleasure of working with all started with far too much to do and too few people to do it… and we helped them figure out how to handle it in their own unique way, for their own unique businesses.

So far this year, we’ve shared the stories of:

We’ve got another great story for you this month, featuring Blair, CEO of a manufacturing company that had him travelling all over the world before the pandemic hit. Juggling last minute bookings and coordinating cars, hotels, and meetings became both expensive and time-sucking. Blair sought help from Admin Slayer and ended up reducing his costs while at the same time relieving the pressure. Click here to read about how he found a bit more time to spend with his guitars, and was able to tame his former beast of an email inbox.

Of course, our most popular monthly article focuses the spotlight on one of our amazing team members. This month, Christina takes you through her day of absolutely slaying it with her legal, financial services, and toddler clients (they count as clients, right?) - you’ll be as awed by her as we are.

As we enter into our fifth year in operation (that’s right! Happy birthday to us!), we are reflecting on challenges and successes, right in the middle of the wild times that 2020 has brought us. We know that operational efficiency, organization skills, and a focus on productivity is what we do well. Being a remote business before it was cool made this year easier for us than it was for others, but we don’t think that’s why Admin Slayer works. We are pretty confident that our “why” is relationships - and you can hear our CEO, Julia, talk about this in an episode of the Grow Ensemble podcast, right here.

Take care of yourself! Be kind, be safe, and book the time away. You won’t regret it,
