We know you’re working hard, weighing the risks to your business, managing cash flow issues, and figuring out where your next customer is coming from. As ever, we are thrilled to be by your side, helping you along.

In tough economic times, most businesses are looking for ways to reduce costs - of course. If there’s less money flowing in, there’s less money to spend, and cuts are often necessary. Ultimately, the places to cut are overhead expenses, staffing costs, and marketing. The marketing budget is most always the first place to take a hit - and we want you to really think about that before you pull the trigger.

Those businesses that cut their marketing budget - often viewing it as an expense rather than an investment - during a downturn are frequently the ones who lag behind their competitors when the economy starts to ramp back up again. Not only are the meager sales that are available during the tough times lost,  but also it’s going to take a lot longer to create momentum once the good times return. If you don’t keep bringing in business, the money is going to dry up.

Instead of drastically cutting your marketing budget, we recommend that you consider tweaking your strategy. Are the places where you’ve been spending your time, energy, and money still the best places? What will get you in front of more people, now, and send your message out to the people who still very much need to know who you are and what you do?

The current environment strongly lends itself to online marketing - because that’s the only place where anything is happening. Adam, the realtor you met in March, has continued to maximize and invest in his online marketing because he knows that even if the deals have slowed, they’re going to return - and he wants to be the person they return to. Samantha, the financial advisor you met in February, is digging deep into client service with more communications than ever before and Nathan, our wealth coach from April, is connecting with clients and strategic partners online to build even stronger relationships.

This month, we’re introducing you to Avalon, an incredible marketing professional with a deep network. She’s got all the strategy - and we have all the implementation. Just like Adam, she’s doubling down on marketing to keep her business front and center in the minds of her audience. The Admin Slayer team continues to take administration off her plate so she can focus on growth.

In the past you’ve met Morgan, the Purposeful Slayer from the Maritimes, and now she’s showing us what a day in her life is like (it starts awfully early). Even in the midst of a pandemic, she’s keeping businesses running, communications smooth, and snacks in the hands of her twin girls. She’s a pretty impressive efficiency machine; we know you’ll love spending the day with her.

Whether you’re a current or past Admin Slayer client, a Slayer alumnus, a friend, strategic partner, or just someone who likes reading our stuff (gosh, thanks!), we hope that you continue to find our newsletter, articles, and resources really useful. Thank you for continuing to read along with us - and come connect with us online! We’re social and we’d love to hear from you.
